Our Art Display at St Teresa's Parish Centre

We hope you manage to visit the display this weekend; if not here are some pictures.A big thank you to all the children for their creativity and especially Mrs Endean for overseeing the project. As you will notice the wooden pieces of art are made from reclaimed flooring from our St Nicholas Church.

Journeys and saying Goodbye to Reverend Gardiner

Today's church service was our final whole school service with Reverend Gardiner and the theme was aptly on journeys. Some of us have been on school trips recently, year 6 are due to go on school journey next week, some of us have holidays booked and journeys abroad, some of us like Reverend Gardiner may be moving house and starting a new job.

On behalf of the school and St Nicholas Church we would like to wish the Gardiner family good luck for the future and we wish Reverend Gardiner lots of success in her new post; you will be sorely missed by many for your enthusiasm and energy!

Reverend Gardiner was presented with a coat peg made by Mrs Endean which was made using some of the wooden flooring removed in the recent church refurbishment! In addition Reverend Gardiner  was given a filofax and pen to be used in her new post; not that we think she needs to be more organised! The children and staff also contributed to a special leaving book.

Some of the girls in year 6 wrote a special song for Reverend Gardiner which the whole school sang to her in church; the song certainly sums up how the school feels about her departure. The words are below:

You’ve been here for years
Helping at our school
You’re so very great, mm mm
You’re so very great, mm mm
We’ll miss you when you leave
But we can’t make you stay
At least that’s what teachers say
That’s what teachers say

You are our Reverend
Helped us learn religion
God and prayers and worship
In our church
Until the end of time

CHORUS:
But the school’s gonna miss your charm charm charm
So we’re all gonna wave our arms arms arms
And we’re all gonna clap our palms palms palms
Say goodbye, say goodbye
But the school’s gonna miss your charm charm charm
So we’re all gonna wave our arms arms arms
And we’re all gonna clap our palms palms palms
Say goodbye, say goodbye

You’ve been here for years
Helping at our school
You taught us how to pray mm mm
You taught us how to pray mm mm

You helped the worship group
Led assemblies
We think you’re really cool mmm
At St Nicholas School mmm

You are our Reverend
Helped us learn religion
God and prayers and worship
In our church
Until the end of time

CHORUS:
Say goodbye, say goodbye bye bye
Say goodbye, say goodbye bye bye
Say goodbye, say goodbye bye bye
Say goodbye, say goodbye bye

Please remember to join the Church and Reverend Gardiner on
Sunday 14th June at 10 am at St Nicholas Church, Elstree
for her last church service followed by champagne and cake and a
‘Bring and Share Picnic’ in the school field if fine or church if not.

A special picture with year 6 as Reverend Gardiner wont be here for their leavers' service.

Worship Outside

Reverend Gardiner led our junior act of worship outside!

It was fun and reinforced that worship can take place in other places other than our church.

We formed a huge circle and prayed for people in the North, South, East and West.

WOW week in nursery

We looked at the story of Noah's Ark and the number 2 for pairs of animals.

Maths linked to Bible Stories

Year 5 did maths work on scale linked to David and Goliath during our WOW week.
